First, take a bost cruise in the westlake,The Westlake Hangzhou (including boat cruise on westlake): West Lake has an area of 5.6 square kilometers (2.2 square miles) and is the symbol of Hangzhou which lies on its banks and is a place of tranquility. On the boat you can see one of theTen Best Views of West Lake--Three Pools Mirroring the Moon. The occasional pagoda and Chinese-style arched bridges add atmosphere to the tree-lined walkways, verdant islands and hills make West Lake a very special part of any China experience.

After that, visit the  Fish Viewing at the Flower Pond(Huagang Park). This spot is located at the southern end of Su Causeway. A clean stream flows from Huajia Hill to join West Lake here, and many flowers grow where the fresh water flows in, so it called "Flowery Harbor". This area now has been made into a 22 hectare (54 acre) park with many varieties of trees and flowers, featuring a peony garden which blooms in April and a goldfish pond which is the famous site for viewing fish.

Later, drive to the Guo Garden : Completed in 1861, this elegant garden villa was built as a private retreat for a wealthy Qing Dynasty silk merchant. Guo's Villa (Guō Zhuāng, 郭庄) is a fine example of Chinese aesthetics in which the manmade and natural blend in harmonious balance. The Villa opened to the public in 1991, after being restored. It faces Spring Dawn, by the Sudi Causeway which crosses the West Lake, and has a distant view of the serene Southern Screen Hill and the Baochu Pagoda. The villa has two sections (1) Living in Quietness, where the owner lived (2) the Sky in the Mirror garden, with a pond surrounded by roofed corridors (lang), bridges, rockwork, trees and flowers.

After visiting the Guo's villa, drive to a village in the mountain side, our guide will pick a nice place for you for lunch!

Have your Lunch at the restaurant popular with the local people to stay away from the tourists' meals.( In china, do not go to the tourists's restaurants when you are on a tour. You shold go to the right place to have the meals, then you are in real china ). We give you the meal options as below:

1) Lunch at Local Tea Farmer's Tea House to know the real life of the local people:And we also can organize tea farmers teach you how to prepare, cook local delicaies if you want to. You can learn how to cook: Beger's Chicken, Westlake carp in vinegar source(Do not be scared, no bones!!! Aha), Lotus root, bamboo shoot...and other many tasty vegetables )

2) At the local restaurants which are popular with local people, such as Grandma's Kitchen, Green Tea Restaurants...And also fancy ones as well, 28 Hubin Road(Top 50 Best in Asia, Jinsha Restaurant in Four Seasons Hotel. We are the local, we are the sources. We know many excellent restaurants even not listed on Lonely Planet and some other travel guides.

After lunch, move to theMeijiawu Tea Plantation:Drogon Well Tea (simplified Chinese: 龙井茶; traditional Chinese: 龍井茶; pinyin: lóngjǐng chá), also known as Longjing tea, is a variety of roasted green tea from Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China where it is produced mostly by hand and has been renowned for its high quality, earning the China Famous Tea title. Meijiawu Tea village is seated at the hinterland of West Lake Park and it boasts the most important Dragon tea production basis. Here you are in an original natural environment, just relax your feelings and enjoy the special tea culture, taste the fragrant tea while appreciating the beautiful village scenery. And our guide or Tea Farmer will show you how to pick the leaves, how to fry the leaves and how to drink the best tea in China.

Meijiawu.jpgMeijiawu_2.jpg

After tea testing, move to Bamboo lined path at Yunqi: The forest is breathtaking. It really makes you realise how insignificant you are when you stand next to the bamboo trees towering way above you. You are surprised at how hard the bamboo actually was - no wonder Asian builders use it as scaffolding! The thing really liked about the bamboo forest is the light - even though the forest was dense, it still seemed really light and crisp, because of the fact the bamboo's all green (not like normal trees where the trunk is dark brown). It gives the forest a totally different vibe, hard to explain but it was just fascinating.

The last stop is The Hangzhou Qianjiang CBD, located in the southeast side of downtown Hangzhou, next to the Qiantang River. It is 4.5 km away from the West Lake Scenic Spot. The central area of the Hangzhou CBD (total area 3.29 km2) will serve as Hangzhou’s future business, political and cultural center. Overall development plans include 650m2 of Grade-A offices, hotels, shopping malls and luxury residences. This place will give you a different impression about Hangzhou and show you the future of Hangzhou.

The best tour experience in Hangzhou

We ( family of seven) traveled from the Netherlands to Hangzhou and went to see all the great attractions and places under the guidance of David. His organization skills, knowledge of Hangzhou in combination with his fluent English made our travel experience extremely enjoyable. We fully recommend Hangzhou Private Tour and guide David to anyone looking for the best Hangzhou experience.

Great tour guide. Thanks to Hangzhou Private Tour and guide David.

My wife and I very much enjoyed our trip to Hangzhou from Shanghai. It was clear that it would not have been reasonable to attempt such an itinerary without the organization from Hangzhou Private Tour handling the complicated logistics. Our round way train tickets were booked and sent to our hotel on time by Hangzhou Private Tour. We were picked up at our hotel in Shanghai in the morning by our driver in Shanghai and drove to the Shanghai train station for the train to Hangzhou. Having both a local guide and driver allowed us to maximize the amount of time we had in Hangzhou. We really enjoyed the boat ride on westlake, Guo's villa and the tea plantation & Village. The lunch at a local farmer's house was SUPER! David is one of the best tour guides that I've ever met in China. He was very welcoming, patient, personable, professional, and thoughtful. He knew a lot of interesting historical and cultural facts about the many scenic sites we visited in Hangzhou. He also went above and beyond to help make our visit go as smoothly and comfortably as possible. I would definitely recommend him to all my friends visiting Hangzhou in the future.

Impressive Hangzhou Day trip

My family and I have visited China twice, we booked the tour with few travel agencies and had a number of tour guides. Some were great and others were just okay. And this time, we had a great experience in Hangzhou with Hangzhou Private Tour (It could be the best experience we had so far in China). I appreciate how they have a pre-sales/trip planning person then a post-sales follow-up person that remains in touch throughout our tour. Sam was my sales person, and Bonnie was my follow-up contact, and both were outstanding in all respects. David was our tour guide in Hangzhou. His English was as if he had been speaking it his whole life. He captured and kept our attention throughout the whole day (a hard task to accomplish with a large range of ages from preteens, teens, and adults). He made us feel special and important. When anyone asked what I like about China, my reply is always the same, the day in Hangzhou with David and Hangzhou Private Tour.

Excellent Service, Great Tour guide! Thanks to Hangzhou Private Tour

Our visit in Hangzhou was perfect. Our guide David and driver met our train in a private car and escorted us to the Westlake, the private garden close by the westlake, and my favorite tea plantation & village. The food at a local farmer's house was very good and plentiful. Beth Keck had recommended your service and I will let her know that the tour was very special. Thanks to David who was an excellent tour guide. He was very educated and knowledgeable about Hangzhou. He was a nice, friendly, and experienced guide. We learned a lot from him, Thank you again for an excellent tour!!

Great hangzhou tour experience with tour guide David

It was a great hangzhou tour experience with tour guide David. It was only a short day trip, but really unforgettable. The West Lake is just as beautiful as it has be introduced by my chinese friends before my arrival. I love the trees and flowers over the lake and in parks around there. It is just peaceful and beautifull. Our tour guide David did a good job with providing cultural and historical information, in my opinion. He gave us proactive briefings both on the van and during the visits of each site as well as answering our questions. Through his briefings, I learned many things about the history of Hangzhou and China that I didn't know before. He took me to the boat tour on the lake, which is a unique experience for me to explore the beauty of nature.
Hangzhou is a historical city. Although I dont have no much knowledge on the city history. But I could see from its old houses and streets.
I love the city and hope to come back again soon.

Hangzhou Day Tour with David. Fantastic!

We booked a Hangzhou tour for 6 people and David was our tour guide. We had the most amazing time visiting the local attractions, such as the lake (We took a boat ride on westlake), the Guo's villa (My favorite place during the tour), tea plantation and the old street. David was the best guide I had ever met, he explained everything with passion and made the trip a lot of fun. The tour was extremely organised and attention was paid to detail. We were made to feel very welcome. We were also taken to a local tea farmer's restaurant with delicious food. I would highly recommend David and the company if you want a tailored tour which will show the best places with a local touch! Absolutely great!

Fantastic English Speaking Tour in Hangzhou!

I thoroughly recommend Hangzhou Private Tour to anyone visiting the Hangzhou region. I organised my tour at very short notice (the day before) and was perfectly looked after. I was staying in Shanghai and my trip planner Sam was extremely helpful in advising me the best way to get to Hangzhou from Shanghai for the tour.

My tour guide Tommy picked me up from the station and led me on a fantastic day tour of the town. The weather for the day was quite dreary which made for difficult viewing of the lake.

Due to the weather Tommy suggested some different places to visit which were fantastic. I really enjoyed the visiting to the Guo's villa, a reach people's house in the ancient china. Tommy's knowledge of the Hangzhou area was phenomenal!! His English is fantastic and he makes you feel completely comfortable on the tour.

It is extremely difficult to find English speaking people in this area but Hangzhou Private Tour caters to the English speaking market beautifully.

I will definitely be using this company again to do a Springtime tour.
Thank you Tommy and Hangzhou Private Tour for making my China trip memorable.

Hangzhou day tour from Shanghai with guide Bonnie

My husband and I visited Hangzhou for the first time on a weekend trip from Shanghai. We decided to be shown the city by someone who could do all the leg work for us and we just had to show up, listen, follow, experience and enjoy. Hangzhou private tour recommended this tour for us and customized the tour based on our requirements. Bonnie, our guide, is a bubbly, vivacious and knowledgable delight. She blessed us with her presence and planning of a perfect day and eve! Everything was timed, planned and thought through perfectly! From booking, to the hotel pick up, to special arrangements on our behalf, we highly recommend Hangzhou Private Tou and guide Bonnie

Fantastic Hangzhou Day Tour with David.

David, our guide was very friendly, sociable. I have to been to China for many times already and have joined a lot of tours over there, so far, David is the one who I can said speaks very fluent English. He toured us around Hangzhou city, gave us some love stories surrounding the West Lake. We had a great boat ride going under canals which reminded us of Venice. We also went to a Tea plantations where they produced the best tea in China. He made sure that we were comfortable and not overly rushed throughout our tour. The highlight of the day's tour was lunch at a seafood market inside a supermarket owned by Jack Ma where we went and bought Live seafoods and have them cooked there. The cooking of the food was so delicious and cheap too. We were really happy that David was our guide. He is such a great guide, we would love to have him again in our future tour in Hangzhou.
