As a mother of two, I was searching for a family-friendly adventure, and our trip to Wuzhen Water Town was absolutely perfect. My kids have always been fascinated by China’s water towns, so we were thrilled to explore this destination. Our itinerary included the Jiangnan Hundred Beds Museum, Sanbai Wine Workshop, Hongyuan Thai Dye House, a scenic boat ride, and a captivating Shadow Play Show.

Initially, I was worried whether the trip would be engaging enough for my children, but the company’s prompt and reassuring responses put my mind at ease. Our guide was exceptional, providing detailed and entertaining insights into each attraction, which made the experience enriching for all of us.

The Shadow Play Show was a standout experience. The kids were mesmerized by the intricate puppetry and the skillful manipulation of the shadow figures. The stories, full of traditional Chinese folklore and vibrant characters, were brought to life in a way that completely captivated their imaginations.

By the end of the trip, my children were not only thoroughly entertained but had also developed a deep appreciation for Wuzhen. It was a fantastic blend of fun and culture that we’ll remember fondly. I highly recommend this experience for families looking for an engaging and memorable adventure!

May expertly guided us through a variety of captivating spots, starting with the Jiangnan Hundred Beds Museum. Here, we marveled at the exquisite craftsmanship of the intricately carved beds, each telling a story of ancient Chinese culture and lifestyle. May shared fascinating historical insights that brought the museum to life.

Next, we visited the Sanbai Wine Workshop, where we immersed ourselves in the tradition of Chinese rice wine production. Sampling the local rice wine was a delightful experience, accompanied by May's explanations of the brewing techniques passed down through generations.

One of the standout moments of our day was our visit to the Hongyuan Thai Dye House. Here, we observed skilled artisans practicing traditional dyeing techniques, creating vivid colors with natural dyes derived from plants and minerals. The meticulous craftsmanship and vibrant hues were a testament to China's rich textile heritage.

Lunch at a local restaurant was a true culinary delight, featuring authentic regional dishes that tantalized our taste buds with their unique flavors and freshness.

In the afternoon, we were treated to a mesmerizing Shadow Play Show. The intricate shadow puppets danced across the screen, weaving tales of folklore and history with humor and drama. It was a cultural experience that left us deeply impressed by the artistry and storytelling tradition of Chinese shadow theater.

Throughout the day, May's knowledge and passion for the area's history and culture enriched our experience. Her anecdotes and insights made each stop meaningful and engaging. Importantly, May ensured we had plenty of time to explore each location at our own pace, allowing us to savor every moment of our journey, which was GREAT!!!

The day in Wuzhen with Sofia was truly extraordinary. From beginning to end, Sofia's exceptional guidance and thoughtful demeanor made every moment enjoyable. The children were filled with excitement throughout, although they understandably grew tired towards the end—but we all had a fantastic time together. One of the highlights was our visit to the Hongyuan Thai Dyeing Factory, where Sofia's passion and detailed explanations of dyeing technology brought vibrant colors and exquisite craftsmanship to life. Another unforgettable experience was the shadow play Sofia arranged, showcasing a traditional art form that fascinated both children and adults, offering a wonderful glimpse into China's rich cultural heritage. Exploring the water town of Wuzhen with Sofia was an adventure in itself. Her well-planned itinerary included visits to the Jiangnan Bed Museum and Sanbai Distillery, offering us unique insights into local life and history. Sofia's insightful comments enriched our understanding and appreciation of each location. And, of course, sampling local cuisine was a must-do in Wuzhen. Sofia recommended an amazing restaurant where we savored delicious dishes—a perfect way to recharge after a day filled with discovery and excitement. In summary, it was an unforgettable experience that we will cherish.

This was one of our best choices while in Hangzhou. Our guide Tommy was so great an accommodating to all our requests. He picked us up from the hotel, which was not located downtown.
It was a great experience right from the start, he explained some of the key aspects of Chinese culture and history, took us to Whuzen Water Town and navigate around it avoiding the crowds. He took wonderful pictures of us and explained everything we wanted to know.
After the tour he took us to have a traditional lunch far away from the touristy places to an authentic traditional restaurant.
Great day, great lunch and great tour.
I recommend it 100%

This trip was incredible.. Wuzhen was a beautiful water village close by Hangzhou and full of History. We had the opportunity to try a ton of local food and it was all incredible. Our tour guide Bonnie was extremely informative and clearly very passionate about what she does. We had a great time with her and had some good laughs and learned a lot about chinese culture as a whole. The tour started and ended exactly on time and the timing of the spots was very well thought out. This is a must for anyone who wants to get a taste of what real, old world china is like.

It’s amazing how the shops, restaurants, clubs, etc have all adapted to this town. It was great people watching and just exploring. This tour allows you to go at your pace, see what you want to see, and focus on what you like. BERLIN was a great tour guide and didn’t pressure us into anything, helped us explore local cuisine, and really helped us understand everything wuzhen had to offer. If you have a day in Hangzhou and want to get away, do this tour.

We signed up for a one day trip from Hangzhou to Wuzhen at the last minute (in fact just the day before the trip) and were pleasantly surprised that they could confirm the tour at such short notice. Our guide was David, who speaks excellent English and Chinese. He is very knowledgeable of the history and culture of China. Hence, it was a educational tour for us too!

We are really thankful that David was able to steer us away from the crowd and hence we were able to take in the sights at our own pace. He provided nuggets of information at every locations we went into. Enough information for us to appreciate what we were seeing. Never intrusive, he gave us lots of time to explore on our own.

We were supposed to arrive back in Hangzhou at 4pm but we enjoyed the tour so much that we extended it till 6pm! :)

We highly recommend David for this Wuzhen tour.
