First, take a boat cruise in the westlake, The Westlake Hangzhou (including boat cruise on westlake): West Lake has an area of 5.6 square kilometers (2.2 square miles) and is the symbol of Hangzhou which lies on its banks and is a place of tranquility. On the boat you can see one of theTen Best Views of West Lake--Three Pools Mirroring the Moon. The occasional pagoda and Chinese-style arched bridges add atmosphere to the tree-lined walkways, verdant islands and hills make West Lake a very special part of any China experience.

West_Lake.jpgWest_Lake.jpg

After that, visit the Fish Viewing at the Flower Pond(Huagang Park). This spot is located at the southern end of Su Causeway. A clean stream flows from Huajia Hill to join West Lake here, and many flowers grow where the fresh water flows in, so it called "Flowery Harbor". This area now has been made into a 22 hectare (54 acre) park with many varieties of trees and flowers, featuring a peony garden which blooms in April and a goldfish pond which is the famous site for viewing fish.

Flower_Harbor_Park.jpgFlower_Harbor_Park_1.png

Later, drive to the Guo Garden: Completed in 1861, this elegant garden villa was built as a private retreat for a wealthy Qing Dynasty silk merchant. Guo's Villa (Guo Zhuang, ??) is a fine example of Chinese aesthetics in which the manmade and natural blend in harmonious balance. The Villa opened to the public in 1991, after being restored. It faces Spring Dawn, by the Sudi Causeway which crosses the West Lake, and has a distant view of the serene Southern Screen Hill and the Baochu Pagoda. The villa has two sections (1) Living in Quietness, where the owner lived (2) the Sky in the Mirror garden, with a pond surrounded by roofed corridors (lang), bridges, rockwork, trees and flowers.

Lunch at local restaurant to try the local delicacies (Our local tour guide will give you the best recommendation)

After lunch, visit the China National Tea Museum. China is the birthplace of tea with the longest history of tea culture. Today tea culture is a bright pearl in traditional Oriental culture.China National Tea Museum is the only museum themed with tea and tea culture in China mainland, so you can know about the culture and history of tea in China, admire exhibits about tea, sample tea, learn tea art, and enjoy pleasing scenery of tea plantations.

China_Tea_Museum.jpgChina_Tea_Museum_1.jpg

Continue your visit to the Leifeng Pagoda, Leifeng Pagoda as an important cultural and historic attraction in the West Lake Scenic Area is quite familiar and well-known both in Chinese folk culture and Chinese literature history.Leifeng Pagoda is one of the ten sights of the West Lake because of the Legend of the White Snake. The legend was existed as oral traditions long before any written compilation. It has since become a major subject of several Chinese opera, films and TV series.

Drive back to your hotel.

Day 2

  • Place&Transport: Hangzhou
  • Today's Activities: Lingyin Temple, Dragon Well Tea Plantation(Meijiawu Tea Village), Bamboo lined path at Yunqi, Six Harmonies Pagoda, Qinghefang Old Street (Imperial Street)
  • Accommodation: N/A
  • Meal: N/A

After breakfast, the first stop for today is the Lingyin Temple: Lingyin temple, commonly translated as "Temple of the Soul's Retreat" is one of the largest and wealthiest temples in China. It was originally founded in 326 AD, but has been rebuilt no less than sixteen times since then. Lingyin Temple is one of the ten most famous ancient Buddhist temples in China. It also houses various Buddhist literature and treasures situated in front of the Temple, and is famous for its more than 470 stone carvings of Buddhist figures, which dated from the 10th to 14th centuries.

Lingyin_Temple_1.jpgLingyin_Temple_2.jpg

Later, move to Bamboo lined path at Yunqi: The forest is breathtaking. It really makes you realise how insignificant you are when you stand next to the bamboo trees towering way above you. You are surprised at how hard the bamboo actually was - no wonder Asian builders use it as scaffolding! The thing really liked about the bamboo forest is the light - even though the forest was dense, it still seemed really light and crisp, because of the fact the bamboo's all green (not like normal trees where the trunk is dark brown). It gives the forest a totally different vibe, hard to explain but it was just fascinating.

Have your Lunch at the restaurant popular with the local people to stay away from the tourists' meals.(In china, do not go to the tourists's restaurants when you are on a tour. You shold go to the right place to have the meals, then you are in real china )

After lunch, move to the Meijiawu Tea Plantation: Drogon Well Tea (simplified Chinese: ???; traditional Chinese: ???; pinyin: lóngjing chá), also known as Longjing tea, is a variety of roasted green tea from Hangzhou where it is produced mostly by hand and has been renowned for its high quality, earning the China Famous Tea title. Meijiawu Tea village is seated at the hinterland of West Lake Park and it boasts the most important Dragon tea production basis. Here you are in an original natural environment, just relax your feelings and enjoy the special tea culture, taste the fragrant tea while appreciating the beautiful village scenery. And our guide or Tea Farmer will show you how to pick the leaves, how to fry the leaves and how to drink the best tea in China.

Meijiawu.jpgMeijiawu_2.jpg

Next, visit the Six Harmonies Pagoda, a representative ancient pavilion-style tower in China, located on Yuelun Mountain to the south of the West Lake and facing Qiantang River. It is one of the three renowned pagodas in Hangzhou, together with another two around the West Lake, Baochu Pagoda and Leifeng Pagoda. Because of the height advantage and special location, Liuhe Pagoda is one of the best places to view the splendid Qiantang River Tide.

Six.jpgSix_1.jpg

The last stop is The Song Dynasty Imperial Street: Has been renamed Zhongshanlu Beiduan, but still leads to the Palace of the Northern Song dynasty (960-1127AD). The road that stretches 400 meters (1,310ft) is lined with snack bars that offer local delicacies and shops that sell antiques, embroidered items and silks among others.

Qinghefang_Street_1.jpgQinghefang_Street.jpg

After the tour, our tour guide and driver will drive you back to your hotel in Hangzhou.

Day 3

  • Place&Transport: Hangzhou - Wuzhen - Hangzhou
  • Today's Activities: Wuzhen Water Town
  • Accommodation: N/A
  • Meal: N/A

After breakfast, drive to Wuzhen Water Town ( 1 hour). After arriving in Wuzhen, the first stop is The Ancient Bed Museum which is Chinese first themed museum collecting and exhibiting the ancient beds of Jiangnan regions. There are dozens of different beds of Ming and Qing Dynasties as well as the traditional beds in modern times. See the luxurious carvings and elaborate designs on these antique beds and listen as your expert guide shares stories reflecting this unique cultural account of ancient Chinese civilization.

Bed_Museum.jpgBed_Museum_1.jpg

Later on visit the The Folk Custom Museum displays scenes from local ceremonies, including weddings, birthday parties and funerals. The main exhibits in the costume hall of the museum are exquisite ceremonial dresses, which vividly reflect the colorful local culture.

Folk_Museum.jpgFolk_Museum_1.jpg

Continue the visit to the Sanbai Wine Workshop, the only remaining winery in Wuzhen, built during the Song Dynasty. Brewing liquor was a huge industry in Wuzhen during the Ming Dynasty. There were over 20 distilleries in operation at the time. Witness how wine is made using traditional techniques.

Sanbai_Wine_Museum.jpgSanbai_Wine_Museum_1.jpg

Afterwards visit the Hongyuan Thai dye house to see the time-honored art of making indigo-dyed printed calico. Wuzhen is one of the principal sources of this flower-printed blue cloth. Elderly women still carry on the folk tradition of carefully weaving this textile. Watch the painstaking method of creating it and marvel at the final product of striking embossed blue cloth.

Hongyuantai.jpgHongyuantai_1.jpg

After a local Chinese style lunch, engage yourself in a unique display of Chinese performing arts - the shadow play show. This is an exceptional storytelling experience as the characters are handmade leather puppets behind a screen with a cast light upon them forming silhouettes. Accompanied by Chinese traditional instruments, such as the erhu and the flute, shadow play is a universally renowned Chinese cultural spectacle.

Piying.jpgPiying_1.jpg

Finally no visit to a water town will be complete without taking a boat ride (optional) down the river. Board a rowboat and relax as you enjoy the sights of the old town and see people going about their daily lives. Float over the calm water and pass under picturesque stone bridges.

Wuzhen_Boat_Cruise.jpgWuzhen_Boat_Cruise_1.jpg

After your boat ride take a walk around the town and then we will drive you back to your hotel in Hangzhou or the Hangzhou Train Station and your tour ends.

We are an elder couple, that go to vizit Shanghai and arounds for six days. We want to include the "Hangxhou package three days tour" in our stay. I'm understood that the price for the couple will be 300$. My question is if you can provide for us new price that included the transportation from Shanghai to Hangzhou and back (by car ot train, the cheaper option)? And the second question is: if the Hotel you intend to provide in this package will be in town center, where we can travel by foot in the evening from the hotel?
Thank you in advance

Hangzhou Private Tour was the most efficient travel company that I contacted before our trip from Australia to China.
His summation of our expectations and costing was done promptly without any trouble. We were met at our hotel daily by an extremely polite fluently English speaking guide David. Three full days were organised the first day, Lingyin Temple, Dragon Well Tea Plantation and Chenghuang Pavilion. The next day Grand canal,a couple of beautiful gardens and the China national tea museum. We followed that the next day with a relaxing day on the canals at Wuzhen. On the fourth day Tylor put us un the fast train to Shanghai. A faultless performance in organisation skills by Hangzhou Private Tours. Overall, we loved our experience with this great team and will recommend you to other travelers. Thank you for your services.

I custom designed my itinerary, hiring a private driver to take me and my husband from Shanghai to Wuzhen for a day's visit and then to Hangzhou where we would stay for 3 nights. We would spend the first day touring West Lake by ourselves and then the next day being driven around by our private driver to my handpicked destinations as well as other tourist hotspots.

I enquired online but many tour companies ignored my custom request and simply replied with a set itinerary and ambiguous charges. Hangzhou Private Tour was not only the one who responded the quickest, but also the one who was totally accommodating and quoted on exactly what I wanted. The quote I was given was very reasonable so I booked with his company. He sent me a confirmation promptly and also provided me with the name and contact numbers of my driver/guide.

Our tour guide David was an excellent guide and the bonus was that he was a food enthusiast and had tried most of the restaurants in Hangzhou. He took us to excellent restaurants, including ones known only to the locals. The food was heavenly and the bill ended up cheaper than breakfast at our hotel!

Also there were no "shopping" stops except when I specifically asked him to take me to a Long Jing tea house to buy some Dragon Well Tea. The tea I got was superb!

Scenery, food, activities etc. are one thing and getting to know local people is another for enjoying your trip. Tommy, very charming young man who guided me through Hangzhou, gave me another reason to feel closer to Chinese people. So sincere and energetic, I had no time to get bored or be drifted away with my own thoughts. He was also mature enough to keep pace with me instead of stuffing me with all the guide material. Also impressed that his company kept he on the field updated with real time information that we could flexibly modified our itinerary instead of going to temple with two buildings closed down for construction. I visited the hightlights in Hangzhou and Wuzhen water town. I do highly recommend Wuzhen if you want to see the original china.

The whole team of Hangzhou Private Tour is excellent. We were able to see many great sights in beautiful Hangzhou, such as the LeiFeng pagoda and the LingYin temple. The water town of Wuzhen was not something I would have gone to myself but I was so glad it was part of the tour- it was incredible. Guides spoke good English and drivers were good- took out a lot of stress of planning transport/entrance tickets/large meals, etc. We were able to see many sights and transport picked us up from our lodging and dropped us either back there or at other cool areas of the city we explored on our own (eg silk market). Would highly recommend to anyone who wants to get to know the history and sights in this very cool part of China.

I have nothing but great things to say about our trip to Hangzhou. The reservation process was painless, they answered any and all questions thoroughly and promptly. The hotel was beautiful; the staff there was also extremely helpful. Things went smoothly and our guide Sharon was amazing! She made the trip even better than I could have expected. Her English was perfect, she told her own personal stories which added a nice touch, let us see a side of China we would not be able to see otherwise. I would definitely book another tour with Hangzhou Private Tour in the future!

We travel from US and speak nothing chinese which is generally quite scary. However, we would like to give full marks to China Private Tour for having organised an excellent three days hangzhou tour package. The first day, our tour guide and driver were there at our hotel lobby to receive us at the appointed time , with a placard in hand. For the next two days, we were taken around a number of places in Hangzhou and Wuzhen, each extolling history and cultural legacy of an ancient civilization in its full glory. Nancy, who was our guide during the trip, was quite proficient in English, and ready to answer all our queries to the best of her knowledge and capabilities. We really enjoyed the varied aspects of Chinese culture, be it different historical buildings, alluring markets, soothing tea ceremony or luxurious silk motifs...

Hangzhou is a beautiful town, but it remains hard to grasp for foreigners (especially westerners I guess). Taking a private tour package really makes a difference.

Our guide, Bonny, was a very knowledgeable and pleasant person. Thanks to her, we could discover magnificent places around the lake (like Fei Lai Feng), take a boat tour, visit the tea plantations, get some lunch at the farmers' house, discover Wuzhen, etc. These are wonderful memories.

She also brought us to high quality places (with correct prices) to buy silk and green tea.

The tour fee includes a car and a driver, which is very handy.
