This tea tour is exactly what I wanted after the busy city sights. We went up to Longjing village, watched leaves being pan-roasted by hand, and sat on a farmer terrace drinking the fresh cup while looking over the terraces. Our guide Wei explained the grades without being a snob about it and let us ask silly questions. He arranged a tasting at a family place rather than a shop, so the money went to the right people. Nothing was rushed. The van and driver handled the narrow mountain lanes calmly, which I appreciated because those roads are tighter than they look.

This was such a relaxing and insightful day in Hangzhou.
